Default two PR videos

Pete S. put up a couple videos from Tuesday's track session. He is driving a stripped Elise.

The first video shows him following John C and his "318 ti". You will note that it is just a teensy bit faster than any 318 ever dreamed of being.

The second video shows him catching up to and passing me.

bmw looked faster to me ......

I noticed you're driving the funky Gman line to an extreme in to T3. Your data backing that up as good?

I think I was driving it too much in that shot. Probably should have been more like a car width further to the left.

I did intend to try some different stuff there and see what the data said, but I ended up not doing as much of that as I hoped to do. I was never quite in sync with my tires and the track all day long.

That BWM is a monster. It's a M3 motor in a stripped out, cage-stiffened chassis. Race suspension. Big NASCAR-style spoiler for lots of rear downforce (which is hard to see because it is made out of plexiglass).

I think he took out the entire HVAC system as well as the audio system. He's also got a titanium muffler and a carbon fiber hardtop. But he did add in an accusump and a fire suppression system. Race seats, harnesses, etc. Airbags removed. I suspect it weighs less than when it was delivered, but I don't know by how much.

He was also on Hoosier slicks.

damn..never imagined a little 318 could go that fast...bumping the engine up to a 3.2L (3.0?) could really do the trick.

I can't get the video to go any further than T2. Anybody else having that problem?

Thanks Mike. Nice videos.

chikai, the videos look fine to me. They should be 5922k and 10227k in size. Maybe try re-download?

Regarding T3 (not directing my comments to you Mike), I seem to see quite a few people taking the "defensive" line braking on the middle or inside for 3a. Don't think that's necessary unless in a wheel-to-wheel race. Taking the entry from far left is so much better. People seem to underestimate how much speed can be carried into 3a if turn in smoothly.
