100mm macro-anyone else have AF Issues?
I have a Canon 100mm macro IS F2.8, when the focus is near 1:1 but the subject is a few meters away and OOF the auto focus doesn't kick in. I have to manually bring it to focus then the auto focus begins working again.
Anyone else have this issue? |
Fix: Change the custom settings to not give up on A/F (can't remember the exact term)

Hmm more detail if you can, especially as to your fix. I have the same lens. I have had issue when the AF has not worked. I'm assuming the camera is confused as can happen, if it is not sure where you want to focus. With the kit lens I'd get the sound of the camera trying to focus, but not being able to, don't think I've noticed it with this lens.
Just of out curiosity are you using a tripod? I struggle a bit with this lens...especially when up close and personal. |

Under Menu Custom Function III: Autofocus/Drive Lens drive when AF impossible 0:Focus search on 1:Focus search off Set it to 0N (this will put a 1 under the 7) It will continue searching even when your extremely OOF. |
Switch it from Full to Limit. See if that helps. :tipwink:
Thanks EDIT: Nevermind, just saw the OP found a fix. |
