AutoX + First time panning
I took some shots at last weekend's autocross. I tried to use the panning technique with a slower shutter speed to show wheel spin while tracking the car through the course. I chose this particular section because the cones "framed" the car on the last turn of the course. The one thing I forgot to do was set the camera to continuous focus :bangsheadagainstwall: so you will notice half the car is in focus and half out in some shots. I put all of these through abode lightroom (mostly fill lighting, contrast, saturation adjustments).
D80, 18-135 kit lens, 1/60; 1/80; 1/100 shutter speeds, small apertures (f8 and larger).
Here is the link to my flickr gallery. I like the black 350z close up and the lotus backend. The album - http://www.flickr.com/gp/11453848@N07/JJ5359
I was told that I need to shoot the car while it is travelling parallel to me so both ends stay in the same focal plane. I understand this, however, would have putting my camera on continuous focus (AF-C) keep the car tack sharp?
