My salt and pepper shaker

Just picked up my first (ever) proper camera (phone does not count...).
D7000 and using 50mm 1.8 lens. These two were part of my first 10 shots taken with it. Doing manual focus and planning to go full manual Sunday (today)
My other photo's are absolute nightmares of blurriness (bad focusing mixed with a not so steady hand).


I had to re-size these pictures a lot original is 4928 x 3264.

imnida - don't be in a rush to go full manual. For starters, there's rarely a good reason to go full manual (your camera is usually better than you are) and if you need to make minor adjustments to the camera's chosen settings, you can do it while in a semi-auto mode (aperture- or shutter-priority modes).

I have maybe shot full manual a handful of times and that's usually when lighting conditions were just too tricky for the camera to figure out what I was really wanting. Otherwise, in day-to-day shooting, I tend to go with aperture priority (since that allows me to choose how much of my subjects I want in focus) and make slight manual adjustments for exposure as needed by bumping (or dropping) the exposure manually against what the camera says I should be using.
