Light Painting and/or Long Exposure

These 2 were taken in my garage. It was pitch black and used a LED flashlight to highlight the areas of the car.

I'm bumping this thread because I've noticed a lot of people doing this now, and we ought to collect our thoughts on it in one place because it's definitely something reliant on technique and not so much gear.

For this one, I used my iPhone 5S flashlight to light the cars up. I shot my car first, and then James's car, then exposed (overexposed haha) the background. Altogether, this is a composition of three separate exposures.

I took this one at a meet a few months ago. I was in a rush, and there were people walking by constantly, so I did the best with what I had. I used a big-ass LED light bar to light up the car (you can see the light trails).

Who else uses light painting?

Then this one is back in 2009 or something, walked around with my phone before I got the flash

Its funny, because I thought that'd prevent me from going out and shooting too, but it hasn't. If anything, I've been shooting more than ever.
