Awesome shot! I think black and white would be great too.

I think the light and shadow are great in that pic! I also like how his toes are the central focus - at least to me.

Yep, EzyBox at the 1 o'clock position. Bare flash at 4 o'clock. Seems like it worked out ok.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Aaron, nice light there, its the sharpness combined with the light that makes the shot work. If you want you could mask the right side of the babys head via pp and raise the shadow level just a bit to even it all out.

I thought about that. I wish he had been lit a bit more evenly. Although I do like how dramatic it turned out, too. Either way, you're getting into a territory I don't have much patience for these days. I'd rather improve my lighting technique so I can spend more time shooting and less time masking!

well, now your finding youself in the same boat as i did a few years back. Looking back the only thing i can share that i have learned and dam i hate to admit this. No matter how nice the shot or good the light pp always improves the shot

Oh I agree. PP is great... In that photo there were a few places in the black background that were partially showing. I just had to help them back into the shadows a little bit. :D
