Default Nikon d40

Im looking to buy my first dslr and have came across a slightly used d40 for $350. Before I found the d40 I was looking into the d60. Does mega pixel play a huge role in picture quality? I noticed the d60 has more mp. I know the d40's have been out for quite some time, is 350 a good pice? Its in really nice condition and comes with all the original equipment, box, and directions. Thoughts? Advice?

TIA

Yea no problem. I made a donation to his site and downloaded his version of a user guide for my camera. Made a huge difference in my shots right off the bat. Allowed me to setup my camera the way I wanted right away, and focus on my subjects etc. Def helps to get the camera set, then forget it. Obviously you can't always set and forget it, but you can get it really close, then just make some exposure adjustments depending on the lighting.

Cool. I'll check that out. Once I get my camera you gotta show me a few things! Or whenever this damn heat goes away. Your pics are awesome.

Thanks. Anytime. Spend some time going through the threads in this sub-forum. There are some extremely knowledgable people. Start looking at their pictures and disect them to learn why they are good. VisualEchoes is my favorite because cars are usually his subject matter.

Picked up on a lot from Ken's site as well. Learned how to get my camera in the sweet spot from him!

Is it the D40 or the D40x? If I recall correctly, one was "okay" and the other was "very good". I think the x was very good.

Its the D40. Does 350 sound like a fair price? Comes with the original lens and accessories.

Do NOT buy a D40, buy the D50 instead, it has the focus motor inside the body.
