Default Which one to get ?

Hello s2ki members

I've been reading and researching this photography section/google for a couple weeks
been reading about what camera to get or which one is best for beginners
I'm new to this DSLR world but willing to learn so any advices are appreciate
I'm going with a nikon because i've read lots of good reviews about this brand, plus my aunt has a D50. I love how it feels and its picture quality
So I'm thinking of getting a D60 since my aunt already has a D50 but here is the problem. I found 2 sites that sells D60 at a pretty good deal

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16830113088

http://cgi.ebay.com/NIKON-D60-CAMERA-18-55...id=p3286.c0.m14

newegg only comes with the camera and VR lens
and ebay comes with all the accesories + camera + lens

so i'd like to see some of your thoughts about these 2 sites

thx in advance

Ryan,

If you want to get the camera with service after the sale and buy it from a reputable retailer that will support any issues with the camera you may run into i suggest you purchase it HERE

For the record those extra lenses in the ebay deal are junk.

Spend a little more get it from a reputable dealer and thank me later if you run into a problem. Those fleabay dealers wont help you a month after the sale when your deal with them is done.

As far as New Egg i personally dont know about them so i will reserve comment on them.

Newegg is the spot for copmuter equipment basically. They're really good for that stuff. I'd expect you to get great service fro mthem with buying a digital camera as well, but I can confidently assume that their experience and knowledge with cameras is not even close to that of BH. I'd definitely shop BH for camera needs

For those of you that live by B&H, it's worth the trip to the store. The place is HUGE and EVERY sales associate there knows what they're talking about. You can get a good education on various audio video items just by talking with the the sales guys.

I know people like the D40 here, but I I like new toys more than anyone else here.

Nikon D3000
http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Pr...5462/D3000.html

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6356...tal_Camera.html

Supposedly the replacement for D40 with more features for $100 more.

Are you thinking of a D60 because of price? If not, you should really consider the D90. It is the poor man's D3000, and is an incredible camera. By the way, I'm glad you have decided to go for Nikon.

And since it bugs the hell out of me when someone calls it a "Naieekon", the proper Japanese way to pronounce it is "Knee con".

The D3000 is most likely gonna be my new choice for "what camera to buy" but if you don't want to wait until September get the D40 if you want to save bucks get the D90 is you got some cash to blow. Either way don't waste you time with the D60.

Personally... Id save the money and buy a good lens... <-have I said that before?

First choice D3000, if you want to save some bucks get D90 as its close to the same quality and functionality, if you want to save extreme bucks get the D40x (I think this allows you to use interchangeable lenses, while the D40 is a special size ring). Nothing can beat spending money on good glass.
