Tripods...
Anybody got any info on tripods?
Makes, models etc..... Was thinking of purchasing the one below as it is carbon fibre and also can be used as a monopod but not too sure.... Tripod.... |
Funny, I posed this question to my FB friends not even a month ago, yet I'm still on the hunt. Manfrotto was mentioned the most. Others mentioned were Sony, Dolica, Mefoto, Giottos, Induro, Feisol, Gitzo, Wimberley, 3 Legged Things, and Oben.
 |
I've had my manfrotto for the past ten years. It survived a four year tour on a minesweeper, and backpacking across Asia. I recommend it.

Cheers for the info....
Julie: That was ne who sent the friend request on fb... |
I just picked up a 3LT cf tripod to carry with me when I travel. My Manfrotto is good but I use it primarily for portrait or product shoots due to the size and weight.

Manfrotto seems expensive..
Anywhere in particular to buy as I'm only looking on ebay? |
I have a Gitzo GT2541 that I use at home. I really like it, it's light weight and strong but I am sure there is an update version by now.

I've got a Giottos Silk Road and looooooove it. I use the transverse column quite a bit + I needed something tall and this one goes to 78".

Finally pulled the trigger on a legit tripod. Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 with a Manfrotto 498RC2 ball head and an extra quick release plate. The ten-year warranty speaks volumes. Can hardly wait to put this beast to use!
