I have an Olympus C4000 which goes for about $350.
Very simple to use and the pictures are quite good. The reviews I read put it close to the Canon G2 for a much better price. |
I just got the Nikon Coolpix 5700 and let me tell you that it takes some really nice pictures. I highly recommend it. It is a bit pricy however at about $1200.

I just got a Canon S45 about a month ago. If the Canon G3 is too much camera (and $) the S45 is worth considering. It's 4 megapixels, has a bunch of different auto and manual modes, is small enough to slip in a pocket, and fairly easy to use. It also shoots videos up to 3 minutes long.
www.dpreview.com had a pretty favorable review. If you shop around, you can find one for $500 (not including the extra battery and memory card). |

[B] Simply for the fact that ALL pictures taken with digital cameras will benefit greatly from using "Un-Sharp Mask". |
I just got a sony dsc-u20 for christmas. It awesome! It is smaller than my cell phone (nokia 3390) and it takes great pictures! I love it!
