Don't be so sure... some of us are very serious about photography, and the 1Ds Mk 2 can be had for the same rough cost as your typical supercharger install. You don't get nearly as much torque, but...

Heh, yeah. So superchargers run about $8,000? Though you'll still need another $2,000 in lenses and other various accessories. In about four years I'll pick one up for $1,000 (:

That would be nice. Unfortunately I think the top-tier bodies hold their value a little too well. Look at resale prices on used 1D and D1 cameras.
$8000 for a camera... I'd imagine a supercharger (including parts, time, various other mods that you'd want along with a supercharger) eventually adds up to the same. Again, just a matter of priority, I guess! I do feel that something like a 1-series camera is overkill for a non-pro; you can't go anywhere with it and not draw attention. It's not like a Rebel or 10D that looks like a $300 film camera as far as others are concerned.

I dunno Pheonix, here in Southern California, middle school students have toys that can rival the cost of some things I own. If its anything that draws attention, it sure as hell isn't me! Lol. I do think the Mark is overkill for a non-pro photographer, but that 20D attracts my attention very much.

Canon A60 PowerShot 2.0 Megapixel - Canon has great lenses.
If you want to enlarge photos for printing you would need more - maybe 3.0 or higher, but again, be careful - megapixels are only half the story - the lens quality is still an important factor.

Just purchased my first DigiCam . . . Canon PowerShot A75 ($180.00 @ J&R Music ). It came with a 32MB Compact Flash card.
I would like to add a larger CF card . . . are all Compact Flash cards created equal. Should I shop on price alone or stick with particular brands.
Thanks in advance.
