WRC Rally Sweden 2014
Hi, I went to the WRC event in Sweden early last month. Thought I'd share some photos I took as I am getting more comfortable with my camera. I have a Nikon D5100. If any of the photos were edited I used one or a combination of the following functions:
Image-Adjustments-Curves
or
Exposure Plus 1.0
I had difficulty shooting at some of the stages due to the weather conditions (overcast for literally 6 days straight save for 1 hour)(snow)(rain)(rain and snow mix) as well as the local custom to build fires every 3 paces along the road and cook hot dogs (so lots of smoke). So it was hard for me, a novice, to shoot action photos of the cars going by while still getting enough light to actually see anything. Hence exposure enhancement was used considerably on photos taken at some of the stages.
Thanks for looking and any critiquing is encouraged.

I think some of them are great. The flying car would be awesome from a lower angle.
On some of the other shots, a slower shutter and panning would help. Gives a little tire blur showing motion/speed. It might have been necessary only on the pavement shots (see the last) and the Barlinek Ford shots. I can't tell if those are sitting still or not. The ones with some blur or even with snow flying clearly impart the notion of speed/movement.
Some of your exposure are off. Some are good. Overall, a decent set.
