Default Autocrossing in Calgary?

Hey folks,
I have been to lots of autocrossing events here in Calgary, but have never actually participated in any of them. I know the Calgary Sports Car Club used to have them every Sunday in the summer, but Im not sure if they still do this. Anyone else know? After taking my professional driving course (EVOC) this last week, I think I may have found myself a new hobby for this upcoming season. Any info from local folks would be appreciated.
Cheers
Asif

How much was your course? Mmm, I thought pro driving courses only take place when you can actually drive out there, ie, no snow

If your interested, A.M.A. offers a course through their S.W. location in Calgary. Instruction is at the 17 ave S.W. location and tarmac instruction is close to Dewinton. I'm sure each major city has it's own course. Check them out. 4 seasons.

Solo II events run regularly throughout the summer...they're sanctioned by the Calgary Sports Car Club but not actually run by them. Same goes for Solo 1 out at Race City.

WCMA (Western Canada Motorsports Assoc.) runs high performance/competition driving schools at Race City as well. Unless you've been to a Russell, Barber or other school, attending is a prerequiusite to getting a competition licence. Solo 1 also requires a school and a WCMA licence, but the guys that run the program also run the school themselves. I've never actually run Solo II so I'm not certain what school and licencing requirements they have. I can hook you up with contact info if you want....

VTEXTC will probably pipe in sooner or later but he's a pretty busy boy these days so I'll give you a brief answer.

I'd like to come out and have a look (and cheer for you) and maybe after that but I got all that racing out of my system years ago.

I would love to go auto-xing... one slight problem tho...

(points out the deficiency of any kind of autocrossable car in his family's possesion)

But I will stand on the sidelines with Dave and wave pom poms and the such
(not saying that Dave would wave pom poms )
