a few installation pix

What a long day...

Spoon X-Brace. No brainer installation. Yeah I know, dust and fingerprints all over it (and this picture was taken right after the x-brace was installed!). Felt a bit of a difference while hitting a bump. Seems to be more rigid and stiff.

The AEM CAI was a bitch. I think AEM should have provided a template on where to cut the plastic pieces. I didn't like the idea of slicing and dicing away but it had to be done for the lower piping unfortunately :( I think I should have got Comptech instead for ease of installation.

When it's time to clean the air filter, how do you guys take out the filter??????????? I sure hell don't wanna to take everything apart again :banghead:

Also in the picture, you can see the EDM headlights were already installed. JDM clear side markers were installed too.

Took the above 2 pix in the dark. Yeah I know, you can see more fingerprints and crap all over the front bumper. Oh well, will clean the car up soon...

The midrange is more perkier with the CAI  and the CAI is darn loud when the car is floored. :yikes:

As I mentioned already in the other thread of yours, you just undo the 2-3 bolts on that flat underside piece just under the filter and then gently bend it down and under.

Looks great! I'm trying to decide between the Spoon x-brace and the Muz.

Woodson Apr 21, 2003 10:18 AM

From what I've read, the Muz is better when it comes to oil changes.

Seks Apr 21, 2003 11:04 AM

It's not too often that you have to change oil anyhow so :)

I'm lazy and go to Mr Lube anyway :) - Let those bastards deal with it!

At least I can still watch them do the oil change. Pretty tough to put in the wrong oil or screw something up when the owner of the car is sitting there watching you the whole time.

For some reason I trust those guys more than any dealership.
