Buttoned up the car last night. New wheel bearings in, one new hub assembly, new axle nuts torqued to the new 220 ft lbs spec, all good to go.
Only slight issue is that I get a bit of ABS activation at low speed, coming to a stop, and when I've romped on it to highway speed, the ABS light has come on. I did break the plastic on one of the ABS sensors trying to get it out, so I just have to check that out, but otherwise, everything is good and back onto the road right in time for the pissy weather we'll be having for the next few days. Hopefully it won't be too bad at Sylvan Lake on the weekend...
Meantime, a couple pix of the car as it sits, with the OE style front lip installed.
looks good man! the lip we got fits pretty decent. the holes needed some adjustment but for a replica it was great! i'll take pics of mine soon enough.
You must be Vince. I have heard about your car from Robin and Mike (i autocross with them). They were telling me on the weekend that our cars are pretty much twins. Now that i see the pictures i see why. Nice looking car!
Thanks guys. UndeR - yep, I'm Vince. I was going to be there on Sunday, but we found the wheel bearing issue Saturday and it became clear running that test and tune wouldn't be a good idea with the condition the car was in. I'm good buddies with Robin and Mike, known Robin for years, from University, and Mike's the captain of our ball hockey team.
But anyway, thanks everyone for the comments on the car. Now I need to save for Konis, Ground Controls, some bumpsteer kit, driveshaft spacers, and a subwoofer.
And I just fixed the issue with the brake rumbling and ABS light coming on - It must have just been a little bit of gunk on the outer CV joint, where the ridges are, the hall effect stuff that the ABS sensor sees. Took the wheel off, wiped it down a bit, and everything seems okay now. WOOT!

I'll be there. My wife will be co-driving with me as well. We were at the test and tune last weekend and it was the first real experience i got with the car. About 1/4 way into my first run i got this dumb-assed grin that didn't go away all day. Man, is this car a blast to drive. The itr was really fun, but in a different way; you just can't beat the sensation of power-on oversteer in an environment were it can be enjoyed fairly safely.
