Cornering that hard, the inside wheels are having a negligible impact on traction. I think your turn-in was actually a bit abrupt, you jumped the throttle before you were at the apex (based on the fact that you turned INWARDS after you went full throttle, which meant you were still turning in, not letting the wheel play out as you exited the corner) and that's what got you loose more than anything.

The perspective is a bit off since the camera is on the left side of the car but that's my $0.02.

awesome, thanks for your thoughts on that corner. I'll keep working on that corner until I get it....

Would love to make it out there for the Monday sessions this summer (I get those days off). I've got a stock, MY2000 AP1 on Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs with a square setup of 245s. You guys think that's an acceptable setup for a 1st-timer? How will these tires take a good lapping session and what kind of tire wear should I expect?

That is an excellent setup for a 1st timer. Wear should be fine, unless it is very hot out in which case you give up more tire wear for awesome grip (to a point).

Come on out, it is a blast.

I'm probably going to spectate for the May 7th session to get a good look at the track, and hopefully meet some S2k owners to get some advice. I'm aiming to get my car ready for the session on the 28th and by then I should have new brake fluid, brake lines and pads. That will make me feel much more comfortable standing on the brakes if I need to.

By the way, Ian, the schedule on your original post doesn't match the one on the website. Your schedule says the first event in May is on the 4th - a Friday, and the Speedway website says it's on May 7th - a Monday. Which is right?
