Used Stoptech ST40 kit, rotor rings were replaced 3 track weekends ago. For reference the first set of rings lasted over 2 years. Pads are Hawk DTC70s about 3/4th life left. Everything included to bolt up and use. Each caliper also has speedbleeders for one-man bleeding at the track.

I suppose I should take some solace that your rings also experience scoring right near the where the ring meets the top hat.

Nothing abnormal there. It's the result of the slot design and pad compound- excess pad material that gets shaved off by the slots is pushed to the bottom of the slot and when that trail of excess pad material trying to evacuate the slot gets run over countless times by the pad itself it creates a groove. The more abrasive the pad compound is, the faster it shows up. We see it often on AP J-Hook rotors as well but in the middle of the rotor face which is aesthetically more annoying to me.
