I am the second owner. Smoke free. Adult owned. Fully stock. May 31, 2013 I became the new owner of this beautiful Laguna Blue Pearl Honda S2000 with only 59,705 kilometers (36,708 miles), a clean car fax, and only one previous owner. I purchased it from Capitol Eurocars in Tallahassee Florida which is a luxury car dealership, I found the ad on Cars.com. The previous owner, a 60 year old Florida State University professor, traded it in for a new BMW 3 series coupe. Previous owner bought the car brand new and I have the registration to prove it since he left some paperwork in the hidden compartment. This car has lived in Florida it's whole life until I purchased it and imported it into Canada. I keep detailed records of all my cars, this one in particular is more detailed than the others. This car has never seen snow! Because I purchased this car without test driving it or even inspecting it myself I had big plans to address any gremlins that this car might of came with. I made a thread on s2ki.com to help myself organized and prioritize maintenance and look out for the common problems these cars have. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-ta...first-1020648/ https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4167/3...c99a311e_h.jpg First thing I noticed was that there was a gap on the front passenger side fender where it meets the front passenger door. Looking underneath you can see it is because of some improper jacking. The pinch welds were bent but I got the professionals at D-Max in the Waverly Automall to fix the issue, no more gap! No noticeable to anyone except me. I also noticed some orange peel and over spray on one rim. Closer inspection of the front bumper revealed a previous fix to the lower passenger side of the bumper. I check all the body panels and yes I found all ten VIN stickers to be matching. Guessing the previous owner drove into a concrete parking curb, small amount of paint is flaking off but it does not stick out at all. I perform my own maintenance on all my vehicles and this Honda was getting the best of the best fluid wise. So I used Amsoil Signature Series 5W-30 engine oil, Amsoil Synchromesh Manual Transmission fluid, and Amsoil Serve Gear Lube 75W-110. I chose ATE Super Blue and TYP 200 for my brake and clutch fluid. OEM Honda Blue coolant. When I replaced the spark plugs with OEM NGK's I performed a compression test. Cylinder 1 210psi Cylinder 2 220psi Cylinder 3 215psi Cylinder 4 220psi The car comes with a set of AP2v2 rims, 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 Dunlop Direzza ZII. The rims show wear and tear but are straight, not bent, balanced, not cracked, and hold air. The tires are in great condition and one of the best summer tires on the market. Tread depth of the tires are all 5/32nds. Manufacturing date of the tires are as follows; 1113, 5012, 1613, 5012. Tires have even wear, no camber, never had a nail, never been plugged or patched. I always kept the car in my garage overnight. Never seen snow, I usually store it in the beginning of fall. Barely drove in the rain. It has been my Sunday driver and autocross car. I have almost put 10,000 kilometers on this car during my 4 year ownership. Fenders have not been touched or rolled. The only set of wheels I have ever had on the car is my stock AP2v2 wheels and a set of AP2v1 wheels that I recently sold. The spare tire in the trunk looks brand new and I always made sure it was filled up to 60 psi just incase I caught a nail. These are the things I addressed: Install OEM Honda front license plate bracket - did not come with one Replace two burnt out interior dome light bulbs Replace wiper blade inserts with Honda ones Get some door dings pulled and fixed passenger side rocker panel (explained above) Cleaned up chrome exhaust tip - had overspray Adjusted valve clearances - only one cylinder had tight valves Replaced tires Replaced soft top straps Patched soft top - small tear driver side very common issue among S2000's Professionally detailed numerous times Changed brake pads to StopTech Brand new battery - this year Every winter I would do the flowing; Filled gas tank with Shell 91 octane V-Power gasoline and properly mix in fuel stabilizer. Put on AP2v1 wheels and inflated to 40 psi. Added Febreeze sheets to interior. Removed battery and placed on battery tender inside basement. Selected vent/floor and did not turn on ʺrecirculateʺ air. OEM car cover on. HISTORY OF ACCIDENTS? : ZERO accidents with my ownership. HISTORY OF PAINT/BODYWORK? : No paint or bodywork with my ownership. Paint has some chips, cracks, and flakes at the bottom of the front bumper but only noticeable when you really inspect it. Bumper itself is not cracked or damaged. MODIFICATIONS DONE TO VEHICLE : Mud flaps Bawss oil filter lock iPod connection in glove box Replaced OEM floor mats with a set from a CR SALE COMES WITH: OEM car cover in perfect condition Leftover Amsoil fluid and ATE brake fluid Modifry windscreen mount OEM painted front bumper license plate plugs Sun visor for the front windshield by HEATSHIELD - amazing fitment Extra key plus wireless key pad More pictures from photo shoot here https://flic.kr/s/aHskVfQ7rS Here is a link to my feedback page on s2ki.com: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/103...#entry22646614 |
