Well ladies and gents, I'm happy to say that my wife and I are relocating to Europe, but sorry to say that my S has to go. We are leaving on Feb 1st, and would like to have my car sold by then; otherwise it will be back on the block in June.
The specs:
-2006 black on black
-US car, I am the original owner, and bought it directly from an authorized Honda dealer in Kansas
-Front lip
-No mods
-Have complete service records
-Will include WS-50's (they are on their second season) as well as the RE's
-Unused tonneau cover
-Some minor chips on the front, light curb rash on back right rim, and someone did a bump and run on the back left bumper
I am motivated to sell, however please respect my time and yours. Make me a fair offer and the car is yours.
No worries, coming up with a fair price was difficult as well...
These are the factors I used in coming up with a value:
-what is the current market value of the car in Alberta?
(for $34K, you can have an 2005 with 35kms on it or for $33K you can have on 2006 with 23kms) both cars are being sold through a dealers where gst is payable, and there is no comfort as to knowing the previous owners - buying directly from the owner has some value add. (ads were found on trader.ca)
-I spoke to the sales manager at Millwoods Honda, and he suggested for a quick sale I put it up for $36K (maybe he threw out a number, and not really thought about it??)
-the fact that it is a US car with 21kms, in my opinion makes it comparible to a CDN car of the same year with similar mileage, I say this but it should be taken with a grain of salt, since the warranty is close to expiring on a CDN car make them very similar, and the savings that I incurred during my purchase I intend to pass them along to next owner looking at a CDN car vs. a US one. However one should also note that there is value in going to the US and importing the vehicle into Canada, not everyone wants to do this.
I'd appreciate yours and others thoughts and opinions on this as well...
