I picked up a 2009 front bumper to install on my AP1 S2k from my Honda dealership today and it came prepped basically ready for paint. There are some holes across the bottom of it and a few above the curve where a CR bumper would go. I was curious if I should have got an older AP2 bumper cover or if there is even a difference. Should I just have the shop fill in the holes? Also will this effect my ability to put an OEM ap2 lip on sometime when I get money for it? I don't know a whole lot about body work or the bumper/ lip styles so any help would be appreciated!

I just looked up the part numbers and they are indeed slightly different:

Base = 04711-S2A-A92ZZ
CR = 04711-S2A-A80ZZ

So yeah, if you want to put a regular AP2 lip on it, you should have ordered the base. You could try and sell this to someone wanting a CR lip and then order the base AP2 front bumper.

The only lip that can cover those wholes will be a CR lip, an AP2 lip wont cover them all. Have a shop fill the wholes is your best cost effective bet

or you can get a cr lip

I would return it. A shop can fill in the holes, but its cost prohibitive, may be able to be seen, or could open up at a later date (when you nudge a curb).

Honda swapped in after a little complaining. It's in the shop now!
