Attempting to repaint my OEM lip.
My OEM front lip needs a repaint and I want to take the challenge and do it myself. I figured it's small enough to get some experience and save some cash. Hopefully. I have the paint already and I have searched the forums for a concrete method on how to remove and prep the chipped/old paint.
So, what grit sand paper, or what materials are needed to get it prepped and primed? Thanks. |
I painted my lip myself. I also re-painted it about a month ago b/c I hit a curb and chipped some paint. When I repainted it I used 600 grit then 800 grit to get it smooth. Since the whole lip was pretty much still just paint, I just sprayed a few more good coats of base on top and it turned out great!

Just make sure you do a nice high grit wetsand at each coat to get rid of the orange peel. I just rattle canned my replica and it came out pretty well.
