I'm going 2 hrs away to swap trunks with another LBP this weekend, can anyone here advise if the OEM AP2 wing (08F12-S2A-1##) would come with stiffer trunk springs vs a wingless trunk?
Trying to decide if I need to dump $40+ expedited shipping on the OEM Honda trunk spring tool (new part # 07aaz-s0ka100 old discontinued # 08m10-SM4-100) or not.

Edit: i found an install PDF and it does look like it comes w/ springs, still looking for experienced opinions on if they would need to be swapped or not.

My '06 has wing and regular trunk springs. Opens with fob but does not rise - have to raise it manually. No deal! Looks awesome, though. Heads turn!

no worries here i didnt get a working fob w/ the car and i never lock it anyway so it doesnt get opened with a knife.

Didn't get a fob either, but ordered one from Wireless Direct on Ebay for less than $30. Looks like the original, simple to program and it works great - locks and unlocks doors and unlocks trunk. They will tell you that you have to have your FCC# to be sure it is compatible, but I didn't (can only get it from a dealer using the VIN#) and since it was returnable figured what the heck. You can find instructions on programming from them as well. Good luck.

Not sure what springs are in my unaltered '06 but the trunk/boot does not open by itself more than an inch when the trunk release is pressed with the little ducktail spoiler on it.
