Fix for Top Latches creating holes in top? Pics
I found a TSB 09-033 stating that my VIN had top latches that were defective and responsible for tearing holes in the top. The PO never took this in to have it remedied.
What are people doing to fix this? Just gluing a patch above the latch? or somehow attaching it to the latch itself? The current top is getting replaced so I'm looking on how to reinforce it on the new one.
Is there a better glue than shoe goo for top patches?
[EDIT: the patches the PO installed above the latch on the other side are failing already. The patches I installed on other areas of the top didn't stick long.]

if your latches are ripping the top its not while its up, its the midbar not retracting properly from elastic failure while the top is down

Gotcha... suggest putting the top down and checking where the midbar lies. if the midbar doesn't go down it presses on the top where the end of the latches are, where your rips have formed.
