Default Forbidden Mugen Rep top tips

I am heavily thinking of buying a Forbidden Mugen top and want to ensure that it is leak and noise free. I have read several threads that discussed using two people, pulling tight on the roof before install, new seals, etc... Is there a be all thread or or source of information to ensure the best fit for the rep? (knowing that it is a rep). THANKS!

if you want 100% leak and noise free then a replica hardtop isn't for you

As someone who has owned both (rep and authentic Mugen), I couldn’t agree more with this statement.

I understand that its not going to be a 100 percent solution, but I am moving to Germany and at least need something considering the weather in Stuttgart is rainy 1/3 of the total year. OEMs are just too out of budget at this point, so I am going with at least a better known hardtop rep shop.

I am thinking of getting the OEM latches for the front/ rear and the OEM strikers to help tighten in up a bit. I have also read about folks adding an additional seal to make it snug around the bottom.

I would also invest in OEM seals and using shin etsu grease.

Will the OEM one be long enough for a Mugen rep? Also shims...how many do i need? I have read 6 and 8.

unless your oem softop has holes in it, it is better sealed from leaks than 99% of replicas

not sure about Germany but OEM hardtops are super cheap in the UK, you'd be better off going that route -- you also get rear defrost which could be important in a rainy place

UK they are pretty prevalent. Unfortunately, not for Germany. Shipping to Germany, from the UK, still exceeds $300 dollars.

I have a mugen rep.
pros
no creaking after installing camper seal in the rear and putting foam in the front latches.

cons
gap on the bottom corners of the windows lets air and water in. but I'm thinking of adding another piece of seal and some black silicon to plug the hole.
I get wind noise from the front when i drive more than 80mpg. but I'll try to fix this by adding washers under the front strikers.
