Help Removing This Trim Piece

Default Help Removing This Trim Piece

Anyone know the best way to remove the trim piece without removing the soft top. Trying to get it off for paint. What all holds it on.

U have to remove the strip that holds the top to remove it.

The rain rail for the soft top has to be removed to remove that trim.

its bolted in behind the soft top rain rail.

Normally, do you get to those bolts from the trunk or from inside the car, by the soft top tub?

Thats not my top, thats a picture from the Robbins top replacement thread.

So if I still have my soft top in place I have to climb in underneath it to get to the bolts.

I believe it is riveted to the soft top.

its not riveted to the soft top. Its bolted to the car behind the soft top rain rail. The soft top needs to be unbolted from the rear and lifted out of the way and you should be able to unbolt the trim piece from the body.
