To Paint Or Not To Paint? OEM AP1 CF Seibon Lip
When starting this AP1 project, I wanted the car to look very OEM and not ricey. I did want to make changes but wanted to keep it in that vein. I installed an OEM spoiler, AP2 wheels and some small other OEM interior appointments within the AP1 - AP2 line. Since the Honda lips are discontinued, the only company I could find still making high quality OEM replica lips, is Seibon. It’s CF but as exact of a match as you can get otherwise.
I mocked it up to the car today and I am having second thoughts about painting it. I thought it would look tacky in CF. It doesn’t. While it doesn’t give that OEM flavor, it still looks very good. It’s much better in person than in the photos as well. To get it painted properly is about $180. No biggie, but should I? Kind of thinking that it might be cool to run it as is for a while and then paint it down the road when the finish begins to lack a bit. Thoughts? Tacky? Badass?

There is another option. You could store it and use it later. I did the same thing when I bought my S. I bought a lip and had it painted. I got it home after painting and after thinking about it, I decided I like it best with no lip. I'm saving it for now. But, I doubt I will ever install it.

Yall either really like painted lips or you’re all CF Nazis! I think it’ll look good either way but best painted. Just hard to paint a CF piece that nice. The finish is excellent. I’m betting their hoods are nice should someone want to go that route. That’s not for me, or at least not for this car.
