Scratches made by Car cover

Long story short, bought Covercraft WeatherShield HP last month.
Did full wash and coat of wax. 2 weeks later I found these scratches made by car cover. Its all over the car but mostly on fender and quarter panel.
Really didn't expect scratches from high end Covercraft cover.

Anybody had issue like this before? Will polishing get them out?
Lastly how do you store your car outside?

Well if the cover is tight in certain areas, and there any dust, scratches will happen. I'd say ditch the car cover and make sure you have a good sealant on the car and maybe look into ceramic coating too.

Several things.
The lining of the cover may not be ideal.
Wind can move it around and cause fine scratching.
Any dirt, ANY dirt or dust can make fine scratches under a cover. (I cover my S in the garage but I use a big California Duster mop to get any dust off of it before I roll the cover over it)
Good news, yes you can buff that out with a DA and decent, appropriate polisher and correct foam pads.

Cosmo saved me the typing ;) Any dirt, ANY dirt or dust can will make fine scratches under a cover.

Especially if the car is left out doors and there's any wind.

Cosmo, I'd suggest not using that duster. Basically anytime you touch paint you need lubricant; water, soap, spray wax etc.

Look up AMMO NYC on YouTube for detailing tips.

Yes, my lubricant is harsh language. The active ingredient in my California duster is polonium 210. It get the job done.

Have any of you washed your car OEM car cover? If so, how? I'm afraid mine will kill the washing machine due to its size, and not to mention contaminate it with car muck.

Have not washed it. Not sure how really. I use them frequently for my airport car (94 T-Bird) but I am not concerned about dirt on the car under the cover. I go though one cover a year on that.

As far as the S is concerned, the cover is only used inside of the garage; keeps the dust off (I go on 2 week trips frequently) keeps the lab from hurting anything as he rubs all over, and if the garage door is open the guinea hens won’t mess things up if the jump up.

I use the duster if the car is relatively clean. If not I will wash it before covering.

The other covers get pretty dusty and the lining breaks down in the sun. I am not sure if washing it would help. I think draping it over a fence and hosing it off would be the best.

I've washed mine numerous times in a washing machine. The recommended cleaner is Woolite for my particular cover, although i think Simple Green can be used as well. Do not use a fabric softener or bleaching products. I suspend my cover from the ceiling of my garage to dry.

I wash my boat cover at the local laundromat in their giant ($9) front loading washer using Woolite. No reason the much smaller car cover would not wash well in it. Boat cover is Sunbrella, a breathable fabric, that I consider too rough to cover a shiny car. On the boat it's fine and the fabric is not affected by ultraviolet sunlight (probably why it's named what it is). Anyway, the point is there are washing machine options in your neighborhood.
