Slick Surface Tape for softop corner wear area
Has anyone tried using a high-temp slick surface tape on the typical bar wear areas of the convertible top? I've spoken with 3M industrial division and they said this one is rated to 500 degrees.

This should reduce friction on the top sliding over the corner bars, which would prolong it's life. Not sure of the duration though.
I'm also considering creating a sleeve of nylon ripstop around the bar that could roll as the top slides over it, using E6800 glue to mate the ripstop to itself. Not sure which one would be easier and more servicable if it needed to be replaced before the next top is due for replacement. Anyone tried this?
