right side black trim piece
left side not there
Hi all, got this 2005 s2k in Jan. of this year. Excellent shape , no mods, but on the rear bumper inside of the right side exhaust opening is a little black trim piece. The left side does not have or show any signs that it was ever their. Any ideas? Sorry about the size, just trying to figure out all this form stuff

Same here, I only have it on one side. I thought it might've fell off, but since you're also missing one I'm curious

It is nothing to worry about. Mine is the same, and if you look at pictures of the rear end of all facelift s2000s, they are the same. Not sure the purpose.. didn't did into it that far into it... And i just decided to take a better look from under the car and still really can see the purpose.

I wonder if it is on the AP1. Looking on the parts I think it is the protector R RR (71502S2A305), but I don't know for sure. There is not one for the left side and I don't see one for the AP1

That side of the of the muffler gets hotter than the left. That protects the bumper.

Only occurs on the right side. I owned this car for 3 years before noticed it. There's another thread on this in the past week.

i was going to make a thread too! i noticed only on right "passenger side"
driver side isn't there!
