*Official Skunk2 Springs Thread*
Ok everyone, I wanted to make this thread to answer pretty much all of the questions that have come up about these springs, as well as give all of the information I have about them. I have had them on my car since owning it which has been over a year, and I have also spoken to Skunk2 personally to answer all my questions I had about them.
To start, this is to end the debate on which way these springs should be installed. There are 2 different springs that come in the set: 2 which are spun with 9 coils, and 2 which are spun with 8 coils, but most people don't know which go in the front or which go in the rear.
Alot of people install them 8 coils in the front, and 9 coils in the rear. This will leave the front with just a little less than a finger gap, and the rear with between 1-2 finger gap... BUT this way IS the WRONG way to run these springs. I initially had mine installed like this, but found the rear end to be VERY stiff and the car was MUCH more "ass happy", wanting to kick out very easily. So I called Skunk2 tech's and obtained this info sheet as well as the springs rates on the springs, which NO one has info on.
SPRING RATES:
9 Coils: 380
8 Coils: 243
As you can see with the 9's in the REAR, this stiffens up the rear end ALOT, and Skunk2 states these were built for the front.
THIS IS THE CORRECT SHEET ON THE SPRINGS AND WHAT ARE THE FRONTS AND REARS:
As you can see, the 9's are meant for the front and the 8's are meant for the rear.
Since obtaining all of this information, I went and reinstalled them correctly. The car is MUCH better, and the rear end stays planted ALOT better. Overall, the car feels much more balanced, and handles much like stock, with somewhat of a harsher ride. The car also now has less than a finger gap in the rear, and between 1-2 finger gap in the front.
These are also somewhat of a nice option for those looking for a low ride, and the handling characteristics of the CR springs, whose spring rates are 375/264.

I have heard of people doing the 9's on all corners and also the 8's on all corners. I am actually about to try this... I am gonna run the 8 coils all the way around, so it will be pretty dang low, and have equal spring rates of 243/243... those rates are very close the the MY02-03 which had rates of 240/230.

Eh.. Most people buy these springs because they want to lower their car, not for performance. And personally, I think they look funny with 8 in the rear.
They have performed well for me...

i have them set up correctly and it may look like it sags from the side because the gaps are different but the rake on the car isnt off so its a very minimal sag if any at all.
