Any tired Wilwood's own Race brake kit?
 

Wilwood recently added a new spec kit to their site. The forged superlight six piston race kit (link below). It seems similar to the SBG garage wilwood kit but uses radial mounting 6 piston superlights instead of the axial mounted 4 pistons of the SBG kit. Rotors with the wilwood kit are 325x32mm floating. Comparing apples to apples if you go with the floating AP rotors on the SBG kit the prices are only $200 apart. Since they are both superlights does it make sense to save a few bucks and go with the SBG kit or is the 6 piston radial caliper worth the extra $200

I would go with SBG kit rather than the actual Wilwood kit. The SBG kit was developed with the intention of racing. The rotors in the SBG are much larger and wider which allows the kit to manage heat better. BBK are all about heat management and I believe the SBG kit does a better job in doing that.

I would actually compare the Stoptech BBK and the SBG kit..

SBG rotors 325x32mm are actually smaller than the Wilwood race kit which use 327x32mm.
The Wilwood race kit also use thermlock pistons in the calipers which also seems like a nice feature.

What flanders said. This isn't the narrow kit that wilwood has been offering for a while. Its a new kit that Wilwood just released (funny that they released it around the same time the SBG kit came around) see the link in the first post.

Does this kit have that matched ratio measurement that maintains F/R brake bias & ABS? I'm sure there is a technical term for this but I know the ST kits maintain this ratio.

Piston size is the same as the narrow Wilwood kit so it will be 29% more front biased compared to stock.

I have the SBG Wilwood kit and I have yet to experience any fade whatsoever. Not sure what additional benefit one would get from this kit over the SBG one. Additionally, the SBG replacement rings should be cheaper than the WIlwood ones and are interchangeable with the AP Racing ones.

Wilwood replacement discs could be bought for under $200 ($225 list price on Wilwoods site).
SBG AP discs are priced at $245 on their site.

I believe $245 on SBG is for the full floating AP rotors. I have the SBG Wilwood Track Day kit which uses two piece rotors (not floating) and while they are not shown on the website, SBG told me replacement rings are $175.

To the OP, if you are not going to change the rear brakes, or are going to maintain the same type of setup (e.g. URGE rear rotors with same diameter and stock calipers), then the SBG kit makes more sense from a front/rear balance point of view. The SBG kit with the smaller 35mm pistons shifts the bias only 5% to the rear. The Wilwood kits shift bias to the front 28%. As a point of reference, the very popular Stoptech kit shifts bias 5% to the front.
