AP2 Suspension Question

I was wondering if there was a way to (preferably without spending too much) improve handling while keeping the ride height stock.
Thanks.

You could get new swaybar, and I heard the beatrush underpanel when ur on the highway helps :)

Sounds good. I hate to start a brand-loyalty war, so I hesitate to ask, but which is the best sway bar? In terms of pure handling, I doubt there's a significant difference, but I'm sure there's some difference.

I am not sure exactly. Just got an S2k myself :) You could look into Cusco cause they are known for there bars and suspension stuff.

I'll look into 'em now that I've got something to search for. Thanks! :)

How about looking for an adjustable sway bar so you can fine tune it to your driving style?

Thanks.

Most cost-effective way to improve handling:

Maximize camber all around, zero front toe, minimum rear toe, and a set of B'stone RE-11s, Dunlop StarSpecs, or Yokohama AD08s.

If you go to a stiffer front sway bar, you will increase understeer. That might be fine for an AP1, but for the AP2 I wouldn't go to a stiffer front sway unless I was also going to wider front tires and doing something to increase front camber beyond the stock adjustment range.

^sounds good; does that mean I buy camber plates or what? And why max rear toe?

ZDan 02-21-2010 11:33 AM

*Minimum* rear toe, not max. That is, I'd recommend a rear toe setting toward the minimum end of the spec range. And go beyond the spec range on camber and maximize it, period.

If you're not tracking or autoXing the car, I'd leave the suspension alone and optimize alignment and tires.

If you do go with the front bar, wider front tires and more front camber via camber joints like these: http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspens...220K&perfCode=A

There might be other joint kits that are preferred, the link is for reference. Not having strut suspension, you don't get more camber on the S2000 with camber plates.

oh wow I should read. That makes a lot more sense, thanks!!
