Best method to see wheel's position at maximum coilover compression?
Hello. I have a set of wheels I'm putting on my car but I'd like to see how they'd fit when my coilovers are maximally compressed. I have no idea how to do this. I can't find the specs on my Skunk2 Pro-C coilover stroke (so measuring fender to wheel center distance change isn't very useful), and I don't have any particularly special tools that can help me out here. Since my wheels are on the aggressive side, I'd like to just ensure that my wheel will clear throughout the entire suspension stroke.
Can anyone help to dispense any advice? |

Or measure the stroke and calculate. Did you call Skunk2 to get the stroke info? Also...bumpstops do compress, so take that into account. |

Closest you will get without significant work ie; removing dampers several times to remove/install coils, is to mount the wheels/tires and then jack up one corner of the car to compress the opposite corner. Depending on the spring and swaybar rate, i've found generally you will get about 2/3rd of compression this way, which is helpful to see the camber/sweep path and where if its not hitting, you may likely with the last 1/3rd of compression. You can more easily disconnect one side of the sway bar to help further compression as well if you feel you need. If you don't have tires mounted, then you have to get a bit more creative on how to support the car while jacking up a corner.
