Default Best Sway bar combination for lowered 2005 model

Hi,

If you could choose from the OEM sway bars. Which ones would you select for a 2005 S2000 lowered approx. 30mm (1.181")?

Summary of swaybar findings:
Model Year
Front/rear lb/in
'00-'01: 393/427
'02-'03: 300/396
'04-'07: 300/311
'08-'09: 354/311
CR: 392/362

I am thinking about going stiffer (perhaps 393/396). Has anybody tried this? Would it beneficial or just a waste of money?

Regards,
JagoBlitz

I don't really think anyone is going to be able to give you an answer as to what is best, as that is very subjective.

The question is also extremely vague.

And there's no way to quantify whether anyone else's answer will work for you.

Trial and error is ultimately what one would do to find the best combination. This is why a lot of aftermarket bars are adjustable. And also why a lot of people did not go into chassis engineering. Shit is hard af, bruv.

What he said. Not only that, but you didn't give us relevant information. That its lowered is not nearly as important as what the front and rear spring rates are, and front and rear tire size stagger.

I am personally running CR front bar, and '00 rear bar on my '06. Mix n' match can be very effective, if you know how to match to your setup and preferences. I don't like roll, or oversteer, and I'm on stock stagger. A lot of guys wouldn't want such a stiff rear bar, but I like it on the street.

I made a spreadsheet that can help mix and match swaybars and springs, and see what results you get for front to rear static bias. I think it could really help you. Pm me your email address, and I'll send it.

It lets you see how your bias with various spring and swaybar mods matches up with each year stock S.

Lets you try out various suspension mods on paper to compare wheel rate, bias, natural frequency. Compare to your current setup, or compare to stock S.

Ohlins coilovers 10/8 going to 10/10. OEM size 215/245 17" wheels.

I want to reduce roll a little and I would like to achieve a more direct response of the car.
I don't want to change the balance.

Well....10/10 changes the balance slightly. Most AP2 spring rates are almost square front to rear.

So you want to use sway bars to now go BACK to the OE balance? Just increase the front bar rate a tiny bit then...

But bro this is counter productive.

Or did you mean something else? Because in that case, it just means proportionally increasing the stiffness of both bars. Or just keeping the OE bars.

I would just leave the bars alone...
Or plan to buy a few to test out and actually find something that works.

No clue how/where you plan to use the car or what compound of tire or...etc etc etc.

Sorry, I should have written that I don't want to change the balance with the sway bars. I would like to elimnate slight understeer with the 10k rear springs.

I just would like to know if I get a crispier handling if I use harder OE sway bars front and rear or if the effect is negligible or even has negative effects (e.g. too much loss of grip).

That's a pretty similar setup. What does "not good" mean? Too much understeer? Even with 10k/10k and the front CR bar the car should tend to understeer more than before...or not?
