Car weaving? snap oversteer

so as the title says, im driving to work today, its pouring rain, all is well but when accelarating or slowing down on fresh paved road and rarely normal pavement my car weaves and seems to be out of control. i do have one tired with like 20% thread in the rear passenger and the other tires with 75% thread left (sliding u-turns like an idiot lol)

though this may be an obvious cause to the problem i wonder if it is, it has happened to me in dry pavement a while ago and it was awkard when i accelerate it pulls me to the right and let go of the gas yanks left, now thats when it is dry and that was a while ago.

My issue now is wet, car literally yanks everywhere, only way to be safe is going under 30mph..

What do you guys think it could be or what i should do to resolve my issue. Any input welcome, really appreciate the help..

Check your tire pressure.

irv_usc 02-01-2010 08:30 AM

uneven tread could definitely do it on the S.

ECale3 02-01-2010 08:39 AM

You need to fix the tread imbalance from left to right ASAP too.

But the pulling under accel/decel is exactly what was happeneing to me when I had a tire with extremely low pressure due to a slow leak.

Alignment, air pressure, and yes the tread alone can do that.

thank you guys very much, i guess i need a new set of rear tires and a lighter foot on u turns :)

betting on air pressure. ive had the car go sideways...not yank, just slide on wet ground as the car hit vtec in 2nd gear...shitting my pants trying to control it

dude tell me about it i commute to work, the total time it takes me 30 min and when im around the corner fresh road and i accelarate, the car is like out of control, i was freaking out and honestly it does not feel safe to drive when it rains, which means my car is useless in miami
