Default Clunking when going over bumps mostly in the rear

Hello,

Im experiencing clunking noise in the rear when going over bumps at 20mph+. It feels like the springs are loose but they're adjusted to spec as the manual asks. I'm running full fortune auto 500s with 12k swift springs. The rear is turned all the way too hard. I put the dampening to a softer spec but clunking is still present. I checked for faulty suspension components everything looks fine. Has anyone experienced this with another aftermarket coilover set up?

Check your install.

Something is probably loose or not installed correctly.

Did you remove the two tophat nuts that came with the coilovers before installing them?

A few installers (including me) have made that mistake with FA's.

Oh ok.

I would check that the central tophat nut hasn't come loose then.

Also check swaybar endlinks. They can be bad even when they don't feel loose when you grab them to check.

+1 on this.
Was fighting a clunk I could only hear low speed.
Had just switched lots of parts convertering back to stock from str autox class.
Thought it was the trunk filled with things, nope.
Trunk springs, nope.
Spare tire was in, took it out, no change.
Diff fluid changed, nope
Saw torn mount while changing fluid, changed mounts, nope. Dissatisfied.
Shaking wheels did nothing, rotation on stands did nothing.
Checked all bolts from suspension install. Nope.
Changed rear pads hoping they were shifting. Nope
I could sometimes hear the clunk when getting into the car. Weird
Disconnected the stock sway bar. NO NOISE.
Took off the end links and examined, one side was super mushy. Who would have thought.

Sway bar links are a very common cause of this issue.

I may be in the same boat as you guys were. I have this persistent, and ever increasing squeak/hollow knocking/bowling pins sound. Weird thing is, I can hear it intermittently when I shut off the car (right when the engine does its last shudder/quiver)...
- Replaced motor mounts (they had to come out anyways), nope.
- Replaced rear sway bar bushings, nope.

I have plans to lower my car on a set of KW V3 (but not yet). Is it absolutely necessary and recommended that I use adjustable endlinks on a lowered suspension? I'm asking because I can't seem to ever find a set of aftermarket adjustable endlinks that aren't loud and fail prematurely compared to OEM.

If I do need to run aftermarket adjustable endlinks, what are my options?

Thanks!

There is no need for adjustable links just because you lowered the car.

In the ~18 years that I've worked on Hondas, I have never seen a link on the market that will outlast a genuine Honda part.

Sounds good, thanks! Yeah, I'm not a fan of adjustable endlinks. None of them seem to last and most sound broken to me.
