Coilover question (olhins or MCS)

Hello,

After much reading and phone calls I’ve narrowed my search to either Olhines FPSpec from SBG or single adjustable MCS from Karcepts. Pricing is more or less the same. The car is currently supercharged with big brakes and Karcepts front and rear bars. It will be getting wider rubber 255/285 or 295 for front and rear respectively. I would like to lower the car about 12mm enough you can tell but not adversely affect the handing. I don’t really want to have to use the roll center correction parts of possible. The car is my daily that I use for canyon blasting and would like to get back into autoXing with it. I would like the car to ride significantly better and handle better with emphasis on handling. Something similar to my 135i with Msport package. I have read that Olhins are the standard which others are compared. I have a few questions. Is there going to be a difference between the two setups assuming the same spring rates 12kg front and 10kg? I’m also deeply interested in longevity and easy of rebuilding/maintenance. I’m asking because both companies are saying each option will work very well but there’s is noticeable better. I’m looking for peoples opinions that have first hand knowledge of these products (I realize this is a small group). I’m also looking for overall suggestions.

Thanks
Chris

Where Ohlins really shines is making track level suspension feel compliant on the street. That seems to align well with your needs.

SBG will help you select proper spring rates. Since you still have some stagger, I'm thinking your spring choices are too front stiff biased, biased for understeer.
