CR Shocks associated parts
 

Hi I have purchased some Swift springs and want to buy CR shocks which I know are a good match for these springs. My current MY04 has 50,000 miles and I just want to switch out my OEM suspension for these newer parts. I want to go to the shop only once for installation - should I purchase any other parts besides the CR shock absorber unit like bump stops, rubber mounts, nuts, bolts, other hardware, etc.? I'd hate to have to go in there to replace a $20 part later and pay for the labor again to get in there. Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Swift springs are too soft and too low. Can't see how an OEM Shock will pair well with them. Yes, the rates are close to CR stock springs, but they're ~1.5" lower, so you'll be bottoming the shocks out all over the place.

The Swift R springs were tuned with the CR shocks. Well, not really. I've been running this combo for several years. The Swift Spec R's lower the car 1-1.25in only. They are 9% stiffer up front and 14% stiffer in the rear than CR shocks.

I have no issue with bottoming out, nor do any of the several people I've met with the same combo.

Grab integra type r top hat bushings they are firmer than stock s2000 bushings.

You are likely relying on the bumpstop more than you think. The stock shocks, at stock height, have about 7/8" to 1" of travel before bumpstopping.

No biggie though. The stock suspension uses the stops often too. The suspension design kind of relies on progressive bumpstops.

Ehh nah. S2000's and ITR's both come with metal reinforced tophat bushings.

^ Exactly. 1-1.25" lower has you on the bumpstops with the car just sitting static. I imagine you'd have maybe 1.5-2" total wheel travel before you're to metal to metal contact... yikes.
