Does anyone even make dedicated clutch fluid?

I've slowly been getting stuff knocked out since getting in S in July. Shifting was never great for such a low mileage car - '02 now at 27k.

First was the shifter re-grease. I had a ton of moisture in there and thought for sure there'd be a big improvement. Nope, just slightly better. A few weeks ago I changed the TF with Amsoil, again, only a slight improvement.

I changed the clutch fluid tonight. It old fluid was nasty, it even looked like 11 year old fluid regardless of miles. Took it for a quick spin, clutch was only slightly firmer, but no more knicks while shifting. By far the best 15 minutes I've spent on this car.

also helps get rid of any air if you bleed it no? i did the same method as sillyboybmxer. just remember that method is for regular maintenance. well in my mind anyways. ill be flushing that fluid out quite often now. maybe every other oil change i will change the clutch as well just to keep it clean.

Great DIY, just finished and the clutch feels great. Prior to this, the clutch wouldn't engage until 1 inch from the floor. Thanks for the help

Do I use this same method if I'm replacing my whole clutch master cylinder? I have a leaking CMC that needs to be replaced asap.

A buddy just helped me do this. The fluid coming out of mine was slow though. But it didn't take long to flush the system. As for results my transmission feels a little less notchy.

Brake fluid will dissolve paint, so be careful not to drip any on your fender.
