eibach pro kit

i want to lower my car on the stock struts/shocks. and i wondering will i be safe on the eibach prokit as far as strut life? will the strut life be reduced? will i notice any handling difference. i like the 1inch drop because i still have my oem ap1 rims on but i want to get something simliar to ap2v1 rims. i wanna run a 255 in the rear and a 225 in the front tire width. would i be okay with that with this 1 inspring drop...also will i need anthing else? rear shaft spacers?. camber kit?

I said the same thing....then my stock shocks blew and I replaced them with Koni yellow's. Then my wheel bearing went bad along with the hub. Replaced them and now I just installed drive shaft spacers and the vibrations on the car is gone. Like riding on stock suspension.

Just be prepared to have to replace items.

I've been good for 15k +miles on Eibach pro kit on stock shocks. Love them.

How much mileage do you have on your 2001 S? It's possible that your stock shocks/struts are already on their way out if you have more than 80-90k miles on them. I would look into some reliable coilovers...Like the Bilstein Pss9's.

i have 53k on my 01. it was babied its whole life too =]. i bought it at 51k. it is my dd also. are pss9 good dd coilovers?

Ya since your car is 8-9 years old, I'd think about getting a set of shocks to go w/ the Eibachs
I'm putting the Eibachs on my stock shocks and plan on them lasting for a while, but my car is only 10 months old so the shocks should be in perfect condition

PSS9's are supposed to be one of the best DD coilovers on the market. Do a search on them. Virtually no bad reviews...Most reviews are positive.

Even though your car is 8-9 years old your shock/struts don't have enough mileage on them. This choice is up to you on whether you want to change your shocks/struts out along with springs. The only thing I can advise you of is if you do decide to change out both at the same time it would be best to change them out with a set(shock & spring combo) that have been engineered through R&D to work in unison with each other(coilover) no matter what coilover you choose to go with(along with the height adjust-ability as a bonus). My suggestion of a coilover for your driving style is the Bilstein PSS9's.
