Koni Adjustable shocks w/Stock Springs?

Does anyone have experience with this set-up? I was considering using the Koni shocks and seating the stock springs on the lower perch for a 1/2" drop. However, I would like some opinions on the ride/handling characteristics of this set-up.

Thanks! :hello:

i had this same set-up on my old S2000.

PM user "jasonoff" - he bought my old car.....

it was the perfect drop for my 18's....i had the shocks adjusted to full firm and with the combo of stock springs (which aren't that stiff), it was an absolute joy to drive.

IMO, an excellent option to coilovers (for the average owner/user).

plus, this way, neither component is taking a beating. i.e. lowering springs on stock shocks, the stock shocks wear prematurely (my experience).

it's subjective, but both ride and handling are much better than stock....

since the koni's are adjustable for rebound only, they would absorb bumps instantly...no floating, no skitting, no pogo-ing, etc....

not as much "bump-steer" around corners either....

PLYRS 3,

Thanks for the info. this is what I was looking for! Since I do not intend to track the car, it sounds like this would be a great alternative to the high cost of coilovers to achieve a modest drop for my 18" rims without adversely effecting the handling/ride characteristics of the car!

Thanks Again!
