There was one that came off the existing install. Just a metal sleeve that went around the shaft.

Is there any tip to drill these rose bushings out? I have a pretty new titanium drill bit and a wired drill and ive been goin at it for an hour already.

ha. I'll be dipped. there is a dowel.

The bushings only have a fairly thin metal plate/washer. It should go thru pretty quick. Get a better bit. Don't keep going at it with a dull bit or you'll melt the rubber.

I hate to ask...but the drill is set to "forward"?

I just got a black oxide bit that should hopefully do the trick. My titanium bit went right through the dust cover no problem but bushings were thicker and (it appears) zinc coated so that was just a waste of time.

Zinc plating isn't anything formidable. Titanium nitride coated (steel) bits can still dull fairly easily, though.

Hope your new bit does the trick.

Depending on what year S2K. Try this setup with the Konis 1/4 from full stiff in the front and a 1/4 from full soft on the rear. Car should be close to neutral handling characteristics. Enjoy

Made some progress finally on this. Here's what I found worked for me for anyone searching this 5 years from now :

The washer from the s2000 top hat rose bushings appears to be around 3/8".

1. Drill them out with 7/16" drill bit and a lot of oil.
2. Move up to 1/2" drill bit. For me, this size had a lot of trouble getting through but I was able to get it close and file down the inside. When you drill from both sides, you can file down the little peak that forms between the two sides. This got the rose bushings over the shock shaft without actually getting to 1/2" and saved some time as well.

drill - oil - drill - oil - repeat with patience.
