Question Looking for a complete parts list...

for all the wear items in the suspension. Upper/lower, front/rear, subframe/diff.

I'm used to BMW's and quite often there are pre-compiled lists for all ball joints/bushings, I'm much more comfortable sourcing things through realoem.com than this Honda thing.

I've searched but it almost seems like nobody really replaces the ball joints and only replace the bushings with urethane. Do you really have to order a whole new upper control arm? They're pricier than the BMW control arms I've replaced.

My S2k has 130k and I'm looking to put a set of Ohlins DFV on but want everything supporting them to be tip top prior.

Thanks!

My current list excluding bushings for MY00:

x1 Part No.: 52390-S2A-003 Arm, R. RR. (Upper)

x1 Part No.: 52400-S2A-003 Arm, L. RR. (Upper)

x2 Part No.: 52320-S2A-003 Link, RR. Stabilizer

x1 Part No.: 52340-S2A-003 Arm, R. RR. Control

x1 Part No.: 52345-S2A-003 Arm, L. RR. Control

x1 Part No.: 51450-S2A-003 Arm Assy., R. FR. (Upper)

x1 Part No.: 51460-S2A-003 Arm Assy., L. FR. (Upper)

x1 Part No.: 51320-S2A-003 Link, R. FR. Stabilizer

x1 Part No.: 51321-S2A-003 Link, L. FR. Stabilizer

x2 Part No.: 51230-S2A-000 Joint Assy., FR. Ball (Lower)

x2 Part No.: 53540-S47-951 End, Tie Rod

$1,312.90 so far without bushings, sheesh.

Yeah they are not like BMWs, just replace bushings and wait till the other stuff fails.

Really? Wouldn't all of these be worn out/sloppy and allow suspension geometry to go out of spec under load?

What kind of replacement interval is normal for the balljoints on S2000s? For all my previous BMWs 130k was definitely time to replace them.

Compliance is really the big failure item. I only replace what I see fit. Original balljoints still feeling tight. Don't forget preload

Yep, i have 148k on the originals and track them and they are still good. Most failures are burning them up on the track or contamination and then they start clunking otherwise they are not a big wear item on these cars. The bushings and engine/diff mounts are where it is at on these cars. My guess is if those are original your compliance bushings are bad, passenger engine mount is bad, and passenger diff mount is bad. That is all that I would replace.

I'm also crossing over from BMWs, gives me clarity on the idea of Stockholm syndrome. Apparently wholesale replacing of bushings every 30-40k, replacing the cooling system every 60k, etc is not a normal thing.

Sounds good. Bushings and Ohlins DFV!! Can't wait! These stock shocks are horrible over bumps while cornering, I can really feel the car slide/jitter

Your list included entire arm assemblies from Honda. They come with bushings already pressed in.

If the bushings don't need to be replaced, DON'T replace them. And I wouldn't recommend polyurethane.

There are 300K mile hondas out there with original ball joints that are still good.

Bushings (except the compliance bushings) should be good well into the 6 digit mileage, as long as they were properly clocked, and haven't been exposed (long term) to oil or other chemicals.

Compliance bushings can go bad anywhere from 60-100K, commonly.

Its all replacement when necessary; determined by inspection.

I too am looking for a suspension refresh on my AP2.
Looks like we are both looking for a set of bushings. Are you aiming for rubber, poly, or spherical?
