Lower ball joint scratching wheel??

Having a new issue with wheel clearance that I cannot figure out on my '05. Something has started to scratch the inside of the front right wheel and has basically 'milled' a 0.5" section just about inline with the bottom of the lower ball joint.

17x9.5 wheels all around and the fronts have Buddy Club adjustable lower ball joints. This just recently started happening on the front right wheel. 5,000 trouble free miles on the same setup. No problem on the front left side. Only thing I've done recently was swapped brake pads. Parked, there is a good finger width/half inch of clearance between the cotter pin on the bottom of the mount and the inside of the wheel.

Any ideas on what could be causing this all of a sudden? I pulled the wheel and cannot see an obvious issue. The spindle has no slop when tugging on it.

Any help/suggestions are much appreciated.

Pictures would help.

Is it making noise when you drive? Maybe you scratched the wheel on install. Maybe its a rotor dust shield that's bent and rubbing?

Have you jacked the corner up, spun the wheel and checked anything out?

Maybe you didnt tighten everything and one of your caliper bolts fell out, causing the caliper to swing out on braking and touch the wheel.
