Need Help w/ 01 Ap1Part #’s for Oem Suspension
Hello guys I need help with what part #’a from Oem Ap1’s will fit my 2001? I recently tried installing some 51602-S2A-A080
Look too be Ap2 suspension and they didn’t fit but not I’m reading that all the shocks/springs vary by year. 00-01/02-03/04-05/ etc
im going to be purchasing oem shocks/springs today but wouldnlike the confirmation of anyone who knows what will fit forsure. I already purchased the incorrect parts one time, I’m trying to get this right the second time but I can’t ever seem to find my exact part number 51605-S2A-A05 / 51606-S2A-A05 for a 2001Ap1. Can someone please inform me please cause I can never find any questions answered anywhere, only people bringing up the topic and no one acknowledges.
I just wanna know what year S2000s OEM suspension ( shocks/springs/Top Hats) will fit my 2001 Ap1 and their part # pls! Thanks everyone
These are the shocks I purchased that do not fit my 01 Ap1

You can get the part numbers easily off the Majestic Honda parts page (and several others). Just search by model year. Use the part numbers to Google search for alternate sources including used parts on Ebay.

just a headache cause I’m trying to revert back to stock and it’s becoming such a hassle.

The bottom perch for the spring just barely didn’t fit through the upper control arm and the mount for the brake line hit the sway bar. My buddy who’s a Master Tech for Toyota was helping me but idk if we did something wrong or not but we sure as heck tried a ton of options tryna make it fit and no success.

Yeah must have done something wrong, left/right side swapped or shock turned the wrong way?
What kind of suspension parts do you have installed at the moment, is everything stock?

Honda tweaked the suspension on average every two years to optimize general road handling hence the different part numbers. Notes here indicate that the parts all interchange so if you're smarter than the Honda engineers and their millions of dollars of test budget you can mix and match the suspension parts.
There is a very nice article in the files here that details these parts in detail. Someone with a better memory than mine (on first cup of coffee) will be along with the link.
Honda S2000 suspension parts are routinely on sale on Ebay at reasonable prices. Some are off wrecks. Some are off cars converted to race cars. And others, of course, from those guys who know adjustable collovers are magic.

Your photos are of '05 shocks and springs. Those parts *will* fit your '01 when installed properly. You'll want to disconnect the swaybars to install (just remove the endlinks and rotate the bar out of the way). For the rear dampers, the reservoirs should be oriented towards the back of the car.
Despite the changes in spring rates over the years, if you install a complete matching set of shocks and springs from any model year, your car's ride height will not change. If you install mismatched springs & shocks (e.g. '05 springs mounted on '01 shocks, or '01 rear springs on '01 front shocks), they will still "fit" but your ride height will change, possibly significantly. [Note that you *can* install matched fronts from one year and matched rears from another year and still maintain stock ride height. If you go this route, be sure you know what you want, since the handling balance might change quite a lot.]
You won't find '00-'01 spring & damper assemblies new anymore, but you can purchase most of the parts separately (shocks, top hats, bump rubbers, etc). Unfortunately the '00-'01 springs themselves are discontinued, so if your heart's set on returning to '00-'01 spec you'll have to find used springs. (PM me...)
