Default OEM Brake Pads/Rotors

Hello all,

My s2k has 28k miles on it now and brake pads are 4mm left..
I tried to research on rotors and brake pads to replace them..
However, since I do not go to track, Honda OEM pads and rotors are the best solution I presume...lol

So,,, I was wondering..
Where is the cheapest place that I can buy them (Honda OEM pads and rotors) from internet except e-bay/amazon.com?

Thanks!

Oh heck no, hehe. Guess you're new. OEM pads and rotors are decent, but OEM rotors are way overpriced. Any blank will be fine, blank discs are blank discs. OEM pads in the world of Honda are made to be durable and last a while, not for performance. You can get a better than OEM pad for about the same money, or a regular ceramic pad from a local store for less.

If you're not tracking it, OEM AP1 pads and Centric or other reputable stock replacement rotors are your best bet.
Majestic Honda has good online pricing for the pads, Tire Rack has Centric rotors.

Is there any way to tell the life left on rotors without any special tools?

Do they typically need to be replaced with the pads?

I've got 56,000 miles and I'm still on stock pads, rotors, clutch, etc.

Excepting obvious damage, you only need to replace your rotors if they've worn down to being thinner than min spec. It's cast into the rotor hat - 10mm for the rear, IIRC, and I don't recall the front measurement.

After 90k+ miles, including track days and autocrosses, my factory rotors are still perfectly fine. I've used both OEM and Carbotech Panther Plus pads. YMMV.

Yeah ususally you should measure em, the fronts are 25mm thick new, 23mm when they should be replaced.

The pads are showing $53.27 shipped....

This seems excessive although this will be the first set of pads I will be buying, can anyone c/d this as a "good" price? thx
