oem top hats vs aluminum top hats
#3
There are several types of aftermarket aluminum top hats. Some have a heim joint that allows the top hat greater freedom of movement. Some even more sophisticated versions separate the coil spring mount from the top hat, allowing even more motion.
Some of these aftermarket too hats are crap, and when the joint prematurely wears out it makes annoying noises. Some are very high quality, and equally costly.
So basically, the stock top hats are better than the crappy aluminum ones. But quality aluminum ones are better performing than the stock ones. But for the street, its not going to matter, go with the reliable, and cheap, stock ones.

IDK, bruv. The shock changes angle as the LCA goes thru its arc.
But...OP was just asking about aluminum hats. Idk if he was axing specifically about heim jointed hats.
No clue what the intent of this question is, however.
Perhaps the chemical differences between aluminum and steel alloys?
Or the difference in how they react to the environment of various planets?
Or the differences in overall dopeness?
They're different AF...that's for MF sure.
