Ohlins DFV - 12k/10k setup from Urge Designs

22 Attachment(s)
I pulled the trigger at the end of last year to purchase DFV's from Patrick at Urge Designs. My decision factor was easy! I wanted single adjustable, high quality setup with excellent street/track capabilities. As many have said before, Patrick was very knowledgeable on the product choices. He was patient with all my questions and educated me on the variables I needed to consider. I also contacted a few others with more experience with different spring rates to inquire about ride quality and expectations before confirming my choice. In the end, I decided on Swift metric springs with 12k/10k rates. For my purpose this made sense since my CR mostly enjoys HPDE track events and spirited drives in the canyons even though 2016 was a dismal year given the lack of time to really enjoy driving the CR. The boxes came well packed and without any delays. The pricing was fair and Patrick passed on additional savings to me with a manufacturer drop in price during my purchase.

As others have said, I'm also impressed with the quality of DFV's. They are beautiful in and out of the box and simply ooze quality! The quality components is exactly what others have mentioned in their reviews. If you're questioning these in comparison to others, I personally don't think anything compares in this price range. The instructions were simple and the parts assembled quickly with just enough time in between to admire the craftsmanship and take a few pictures. It goes without saying, but the Swift springs look fantastic as well. The fit and color combination works and I personally like the them on the DFV's. I plan on installing the setup soon after purchasing new tires so I can do an alignment all at one time. I may even consider corner balancing to get a precise setup when the suspension and tires are installed. I will update this thread with information on installation specs and a street and track driving review shortly. In the meantime, I thought I would post up some pics. Enjoy!

Nice! I think I'll be scheduled for a revalve 2019. Definitely looking at upping the rates and going with swifts. Definitely interested in your impressions of the 12/10 setup.

I will definitely add to my review on this setup. Most have the 10k/8K setup so not much out there on the 12k/10k setup as of recent.

Thank you. The old D90 still does a great job. I tired to stage the components to get the best shots. Still improving on how to frame shots and pick the best lighting.

Yep, that's the spec Im running and LOVE them. I am going r-comp this year though and 10/8 might be a tad bit too soft. I am running 6/5 from full stiff right now. We'll see!

How's your travel been in the rear on the streets and track? Did you add more preload to the rear setup?

Where did you get those rear adjuster extensions?

From Japan through Patrick at Urge. 11" with different adjustment knobs. I plan on modifying the rear trunk liner for a convenient fit.

Nice! I love the extensions!

I'm considering moving to either a 12k/10k or 11k/10k setup in the next couple of months
