Default Ohlins DFV and Rubbing

I just had Ohlins DFV installed on my S and drive it home last night. The installation is done at very reputable shop and is an Ohlins authorized dealer. With that said, I don't think it's an issue of incorrect installation but just the ride height being too low. I can barely fit my index finger in the gap between front tire and fender.

The car was corner weighed and aligned. Front camber is at -2.1 and rear at -2.7. I'm running 225/255 staggered setup. Can't remember what the wheel offset was, but top of tires are inside the fender arcs.

So on the way home from shop (about 30 miles), there were a few expansion joints that felt more like bomb craters. Going over those joints caused the driver's side rear tire to come in contact with the fender liner. On sharp turns occasionally the outside front would contact the liner. It was not all turns and all expansion joints. It actually handled a particular section of overpass superbly and chassis remained composed.

I'm very happy with the Ohlins. Just want ask if the liner rubbing has occurred on other S with Ohlins DFV and maybe if I need to raise the ride height a bit.

My Ohlins ride better than stock. It just sounds like the car is too low as you said. How stiff are they set to? Whats the measurement from front hub center to fender? Mine is at 13"

Are you on stock wheels? What you are probably rubbing on are the fender tabs as they protrude into the wheel well. I bent mine up a little bit, but I run 17x9s in the front. On stock wheels you should be having this issue unless you're slammed.

No problem here with OEM 17s 225/255 no modifications to fenders or tabs
Ohlins set to recommended spec as in handbook says 20mm lower than standard,
maybe more though did not measure before and after.

what wheels are you on? I doubt ride height is the problem. The fender tabs probably need to be addressed.

wheel offsets will make a big difference, sounds like a combo of offsets are too low and maybe ride height is too low for those offsets.

Thanks for the responses. The wheels are OZ Alleggerita, 17x7.5 +48 in front and 17x8.5 +59 in rear. The Ohlins are set at 8 clicks from full stiff both front and rear. Haven't gotten a chance to measure the distance between hub center to fender. Will do that tonight.

I haven't driven the car since Friday night due to the crappy weather. Will do more driving this week and report my findings.

Ahhh okay...adds up now. The front offset is aggressive enough; you're gonna wanna raise the car a bit.

If you can't get a finger between the top of the tire and the fender it is to low on top of having more aggressive that OEM wheels and tires. Either raise the car up some or roll the fenders. If sounds like you should roll them anyways considering you are so low.
