Default Replacing spring on kW v3 questiom

So the stock kW v3 Spring is 6 inches about 2.5 inches id. Has a helper spring

At my heat the helper spring is completely compressed when the car is in the air on stands. I want to go higher but I can't cause it's so hard to spin the perch

What swift spring to get? 65 mm which is 2.55 I'd or the 63. Mm which is 2.48. I see pictures with both. Orange is 65 and blue is 63.

If I get a 7 or 8 inch spring can I just remove the helper spring ? There is enough thread and I would be preloading the spring anyways

You can't turn the perch? Are you using a wet noodle as a wrench? It can't be siezed. Are you using a wrench at all? Or just turning it by hand?

Not that I can't but it's damn hard already. The helper is already fully compressed and every time I turn I hear it bind tighter.

And you're using the spanner wrench?

To make it easier on you if you're having trouble turning it:

-loosen the center top hat JAM nut. Remove it. Set it aside.
-thread the second (lower) tophat nut up so that the tophat is as loose as possible without coming off the shaft. This will decompress the springs.
-thread springs up easily.
-re-tighten the top hat nut and re-jam the top hat jam nut.

Easier than buying new springs, in'it?

well, i actually want to upgrade spring stiffness. i want to go with 10k swift springs. i wanted to see if i can get longer springs and remove the helper ones.

your method sorry to say will work but is such a hassle espically on the gas filler neck side.

I have 12k/10k H&R springs on my KW V3 that originally came with 517lb springs (gen 1.5 shocks). I kept the helper springs.

Are you worried about damaging the spring by turning the perch? Or is it just inconvenient? And are you using the KW spanner wrench?

i just figure if i can remove it might as well. it just opens up options for buying springs if i dont want to purchase new ones.

not worried at all about damaging the springs. they are steel, wont break like that

Lol...I'm attempting to help you, man. What are you using to turn the spring seat?

If I am understanding correctly, you can just get a 1" longer spring and remove the helper.
The 65mm springs work "closest"(i say that because its better to be slightly larger than too small for the adjoining hardware) to 2.5", its what I bought when I had mine.
These are my clubsports, but a visual for people. they are just set on "loose"

I've seen pictures of the 63mm swift springs as well. I use the kW wrench to turn my springs.

I thought I need to get 2 inch longer to not use the helper
